Job Description (Audit Data Analytics Specialist)
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with various databases, applications and coding, as well as experience identifying and assessing financial, operational, compliance, and reputational risks across a variety of business functions.
The candidate will be a key analytics member of the Internal Audit Data Analytics Team. This individual will play a critical role in providing valuable insights into group audits, driving the efficiency of the audits, empowering Internal Audit team to further use analytics to bring value to the audit team and relevant stakeholders.
This individual will collaborate with key internal stakeholders, i.e. audit, finance, IT, data and other business process owners with audit team.
This role will require the ability to understand relationships between data and processes during analytics studies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Acquire relevant data to support audit objectives, perform analytical tests and communicate test results to the audit team and related parties,
- Identify and report critical insights, anomalies and potential non-compliance issues discovered during analytical procedures to the audit team,
- Have a natural state of inquisitiveness to understand business and how technology supports business operations,
- Conduct analyses with a risk-based approach, aligning findings with audit priorities and objectives,
- Support in audit scenario test design and implementation
- Collaborate with the audit team and stakeholders to identify risks and mitigation factors,
- Work with raw data to identify patterns and trends effectively, providing actionable solutions based on analysis,
- Actively participate in audit data analytics projects, ensuring all project tasks are completed accurately and within set timelines,
- Develop project ideas aimed at enhancing manual processes and increasing efficiency through technology. Share these ideas with team and contribute to project planning and implementation efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, Business Administration or related fields,
- 1-3 years of professional experience on data analytics and/or audit,
- Strong analytical skills with ability to handle big data from different data sources to interpret anomalies, finding correlations and understanding audit insights,
- Hands-on experience of statistical programming languages, preferably Python, and active involvement in data analysis processes,
- Familiar with Power BI or similar data visualization tools, with the ability to effectively present data insights,
- Certification in data analytics, machine learning, data science or audit is a plus,
- Detail-oriented in data analysis and reporting, with a focus on ensuring accuracy and completeness,
- Able to travel both international and domestic offices of Group companies,
- Motivated to advance a career in audit data analytics, eager to develop innovative and predictive analytic project ideas and committed to implementing these projects,
- Ability to learn, understand and use new data analysis techniques and tools,
- Good command of written and spoken English,
- Strong communication, team working and negotiation skills,
- Advanced critical thinking skills are required,
- Basic understanding of internal controls, process and risk analysis on business processes,
- Basic understanding of audit methodology, documentation, and auditing&reporting standards,
- Independent and highly self-motivated,
- Ability to effectively manage time and productivity with competing priorities in a rapidly changing, fast-paced, interactive, results-oriented team environment,
- Must be able to work in different teams and independently to manage and execute multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
